The Chinese Journal of Trauma , founded in September 1985, is an advanced monthly medical journal that reports developments and achievements in trauma medicine in China. It focuses on clinical investigation and basic scientific research, and covers the following areas: multiple injury, trauma scoring, traffic injury, epidemiology and management of regional injury, molecular biology and immunology of trauma. The column of the journal includes Editorial, Forum for Experts, Original Articles, Case Reports, Reviews, New Technique and Experience Exchange, etc. The editorial board consists of 61 distinguished experts from all over China including Taiwan and the Hongkong Special Administrative Region. The journal is accepted as one of the core journals by the China Information Institute, the Information Institute of Chinese Academy of Science, the China Library, and the Information Institute of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and can be accessed at medical universities, colleges, and relevant research institutes all over China. The impact factor (IF) of the journal ranks ahead of other domestic medical journals, especially the surgical journals. The journal has been indexed by the Chemical Abstracts (CA) and the Abstracts Journal of Russia (AJ). The journal won the 3rd place prize for the Excellent Journal Award granted by the Chinese Medical Association（CMA) in 1995, the 3rd place prize for the National Excellent Sci-tech Journal Award granted by the China Association for Science and Technology in 1997, the 2nd place prize for the Excellent Journal Award granted by the CMA in 2000, the 3rd place prize for the Excellent Journal Award granted by the CMA in 2001, and the 2nd place prize for the Excellent Sci-tech Journal Award granted by the China Association for Science and Technology in 2001, and was chosen as one of top ten S&T journals of Chongqing in 2004 and won 2nd place prize for Excellent Journal on 90th anniversary of Chinese Medical Assiciation. It is also a member of the Chinese Periodical Phalanx. In 2007, the journal ranked the first grade in the 4th Periodical Quality Evaluation in Chongqing.
